This worksheet especially applies to the photo description where the last/ last two questions go beyond the picture and put(s) students on the spot, the type of question that asks: What did you do last week/month/year in order to (choose your option: be healthy, protect the environment, be helpful to your family etc). This type of question is always tricky. The same applies to the future ones: what will you do… in order to…? The worksheet gives a range of options that students can decide upon and then try and regurgitate on the day.

Asking questions in French - Poser des questions

Activities to teach ways of asking questions in French. Often there are several ways to ask the same question e.g. Tu vas au lycée? Vast-tu au lycée? Est-ce que tu vas au lycée? Je vais au lycée. Et toi? And then same ways but with a question word before… e.g. pourquoi est-ce que tu vas au lycée?etc At KS3 students need to be confident with one way of asking questions and then recognise other ways when listening. These activities allow teachers to get students to visit those areas.

Students are asked to identify how they feel when they miss out on something? We then look at the possible causes of FOMO in modern society and the consequences of feeling this. We watch a video on embracing JOMO (Joy of missing out) and finally we look at an article from the Guardian on the topic with a variety of exercises on it. Suitable for B1 level onwards for learners of English as a Foreign Language.
